As a young adult, I thought the idea of being paid strictly on commission seemed daunting. Now, having been in sales for many years and in the real estate industry since 2007, I have come to a vastly different perspective.
The gravity of the home buying and selling journey and being a part of one of the biggest decisions (and purchases) one can make in their lifetime - often leaves me awestruck.
The fact that I get to help guide clients through such an important, life-changing process means that I gain the opportunity to experience the exciting time with them, too - and, no matter how many people I assist with their real estate goals, the joy of bringing those goals to fruition never loses its magic on me.
Now, don't get me wrong, there are plenty of agents who flit from one client to another collecting commission checks (and who may also contribute to the not-always-so-stellar reputation of some in our profession). I am not one of these agents, however.
I am bestowed with the honor of helping make sure my clients have all of their needs taken care of at all times, and I see this privilege as one of the ways I give back to my community. The fact that I also happen to be compensated for it is just icing on the cake.
The success of my clients is my success, and the highest honor occurs when clients refer their friends and family to me; knowing their loved ones are in good hands and confident that they will be handled with the greatest of care.
With this in mind, and considering this time of year, it's important for me to express just how grateful I am to my clients, colleagues, and all of the folks who continue to refer clients to me. You are the backbone of my success, and you are dearly treasured.
*Note: If you feel as though your agent may not be as thankful for you as I am for my clients, please feel free to touch base via email or (619) 209-9953.
